John Reeves

History

John James Reeves No 6087, was born in Korong Vale and was a laborer before he joined the Australian Imperial Force 8th Battalion on the 31st March, 1916. Embarked for overseas France, via Southhampton, 23rd November 1916

Wounded in action (Gas poisoning) 7th June 1917, transferred to England. He proceeded to France 17th September 1917 and was wounded again on the 30th August 1918 and returned to Australia 2nd May 1919. He was awarded the Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.

This person is listed on the Timor Primary School Honour Roll and the Bowenvale Honor Roll
