John Stevens was a furrier whose premises (according to the Australasian Federal Directory) were located on Raglan Street, Ballarat.[1]
History
In 1918 Stevens, The Furriers, boasted a large stock of Musquash, Coney Seal, Russian Squirrel, Australan and New Zealand Coney. Eighty rabbits made a beautiful coat, and the skin could be dyed black or brown. Fox skins were bough, and alos tanned and made up into designs.[2]
