History
John Tennant Veitch was born in Ballarat and enlisted in the AIF (2715) [1]on 09 January 1916 as 34 year old miner, becoming a member of the 1st Tunnelling Company. His next of Kin was his mother Margaret Veitch.[2]
Legacy
Tree 3473 in the Ballarat Avenue of Honour was planted for Sapper John Veitch of the Australian Mining Corps. The tree is either an Elm or a Plan, and was planted on 09 June 1919 by Miss O. Mitchell.[3]
