BALLARAT SOLDIER KILLED

BALLARAT. Saturday.

Private L. E. Daw, son of the late Mr W Daw, of Ballarat South, has been killed in action in France. As foreman of the Ballarat City Fire Brigade and an all-round competitor on the tracks, he was well known in many parts of the State. He was an active member of the Ballarat Football and Wendouree Rowing Clubs. A brother Corporal William Daw was killed in France two years ago, and another brother Edward, has been invalided home.
