Background
The Llanberris Quartz Mining Co. derived its name from Llanberis, Wales. The second ‘r’ was added by mistake during its recording by the mining registrar.[1]
History
The Llanberris Quartz Mining Co. was formed in September 1858 be sixteen Ballarat miners. It operated in the Gum Tree Flat area.[2]
