In 1893 Lonie, Dingle & Co. of Humffray Street South advertised as "Engineers, iron and Brass founders, &c."[1]

Messrs Lonie. and Dingle, the local iron founders, have just delivered to the order of the Railway Department 10 engine tarn-tables, the contract price for which was £lOOO. The firm named-are now commencing another Government contract for the supply of 85 set of railway brakes. [3]
