M. James Trait
Michael James Trait served with the A.I.F. during World War One.
History
Trait was born in Ballarat, the son of Michael James Trait.[1] His brother, John A. Trait also enlisted in the A.I.F.
Trait joined the 14th Battalion A.I.F. on 1 October 1914.[1] At the time of his enlistment he was employed as a printer. He was sent to Gallipoli. On 26 May 1915, he was admitted to hospital in Mudros with influenza.[1] On 3 July 1915 he was admitted to the No. 21 General Hospital in Alexandria with enteric fever. He was sent to Port Said for convalescence, and left for Australia on 7 September 1915.[1] In 1916 he was discharged from the army. A handwritten note on his army form has "29.5.1936 Died after discharge".[1]

TRAIT. — The Relatives and Friends of Mrs. DORIS TRAIT, of Fraser Court, Bondi, and Miss THELMA ASHLEY, are kindly invited to attend the Funeral of her dearly beloved HUSBAND and her loving BROTHER-IN-LAW, Michael James Trait; to leave the Kinsela Chapels, Oxford-street, Taylor-square, Darlinghurst, THIS SATURDAY, after a service to commence at 1 p.m., for the Botany Cemetery.[2]
