Magill & Coghlan was brewery founded by James Coghlan which later amalgamated with Tulloch & McLaren and Leggo & Co and developed into the Ballarat Brewing Co. Ltd.(1)

According to the Australasian Federal Directory Magill & Coghlan were operating from two premises in 1887 - the Phoenix Brewery at Warrenheip and Dana Street, Ballarat.(2)
