Maldon was designated 'the first notable town' by the national trust on 2nd December 1965 [1]. This classification has led to Maldon becoming a thriving 'tourist town' from Friday through Sunday.
Maldon hosts many tourist attractions which relate to mining in the area. A list of these include: - The Beehive Chimney - Carmen's Tunnel
