The National Hotel was a hotel in Ballarat, Victoria.

Background

The hotel was first known as the Alfred Hotel, then the Inkerman and Durham Hotel, and then Steele's National Hotel.[1] The hotel was closed by the License Reduction Board in 1922.[2]

History

Site

The hotel was on the south east corner of Sturt Street and Alfred Street.[1] Hargreaves identified it as 1443 Sturt Street in 1943, which was then a shop.[1] It is now a vacant block of land and part of the grounds of St. Patrick's College.
