History
Norman C. Carmichael was the son of J.G. Carmichael of 512 Leith Street, Ballarat. Before enlisting during World War One Norman Carmichael was a teacher at the Ballarat Junior Technical School.[1]
He enlisted for service during World War One on 23 January 1918, aged 18. He embarked with the 6th General Service Reinforcements on the transport Borda on 17 July 1918. While in England her was allotted to Reinforcements of the 6th Battalion. He returned on the transport Suevic on 10 September 1919, and was discharged on 25 September 1919.[2]
Legacy
World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
Norman C. Carmichael's name is listed in the Ballarat School of Mines Honor Roll.[3]
