Norman Whitfield was born in Adelaide on 28 July 1873, and was educated at Ballarat College. He married Annie. Howard suffered catastrophic head wounds when he was killed in action on 4 October 1917[1]
Legacy
World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.

This is probably Henry Howard Whitfield who served during World War One, and was killed on or around 04 October 1917 during the Battle of Broodseinde, Belgium.[2]
