History
Oswald Coghlan was born in 1886, the son of Ballarat brewer James Coghlan. Oswald became the director of the Ballarat Brewing Company, the family business. He was also very involved with racing and horse breeding.[1]

- Coghlan – On August 31, at private hospital Ballarat, Oswald Joseph Moore Coglan, of Arranmore, Miners Rest, beloved husband of the late Mary Ellen [sic] and loving father of James, Mary (Mrs E O’Brien), Jasper, Oswald, Donal, Teresa and Margaret (Mrs W Holmes) – Requiescat in pace.” [2]
