History
Known as William Patrick Zimdahl, service number 2761, was 33 year old and a fitter before he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force, 51st Battalion, in Perth, on the 24th April 1916. [1]
He embarked on the HMAT Suffolk in Freemantle and disembarked in Plymouth, then sent to France where he was wounded in action on the 6th October 1918 in France. He returned to Freemantle on the Konigan Louise on 3rd August 1918. He received the 1914/15 Star, The British War Medal and the Victory Medal [2]
