History

Hedrick was born at Longfold, Scotland around 1834 and arrived at Buninyong in 1853 opening a store in partnership with Mr Bryden. Hedrick married Arrabella Selleck, the elsest daughter of George Selleck of Selleck's Hotel, Buninyong. He was first mayor of the Borough of Buninyong Council in 1863. [1]

‘—Mr. Peter Hedrick, who has several times been mayor of the Buninyong Borough Council and was one of the oldest councillors in the colony, died to-day from pleurisy at the age of 62 years. He was chairman of the Ballarat Mining Board and a prominent member of the Old Colonists’ Association.’ [2]
