Reginald Reid
History
Reginald Reid was born in Ballarat East. He enlisted to serve during World War One as a 23 year old labourer on 12 July 1915. Reginald Reid (SN 4957) was a private in the 14th Battalion. He proceeded overseas to France on 21 July 1916, and was reported missing in action in France on 11 April 1917. Driver R. Reid was captured at Remcourt by the Germans and was a prisoner of war at Dulmen, Germany. At that time he had a guns shot wound to the left shoulder. On 29 November 1918 he was repatriated and arrived in England[1] Reginald Reid returned to Australia in March 1919.
He died 03 June 1950, aged 60, and is buried in the Ballaarat Old Cemetery.
Legacy
World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.

Reginald Reid married Gwen.
