This includes operators “engaged in renting, hiring, or otherwise allowing the use of tangible or intangible assets (except copyrights),” and those providing related services. (Trewin and Pink, 2006, p. 304)

Although such operators do not fall strictly within the scope of the Ballarat and District Industrial Heritage Project, such operators may have performed secondary industrial activities that contributed to the industrial heritage of Ballarat and district and should be included here.
