Retail Trade

This includes operators “engaged in the purchase and onselling, commission based buying, and commission based selling of goods, without significant transformation, to the general public.” (Trewin and Pink, 2006, p. 244)

Although such operators do not fall strictly within the scope of the Ballarat and District Industrial Heritage Project, such operators may have performed secondary industrial activities that contributed to the industrial heritage of Ballarat and district and should be included here.

Fuel Retailing

Food Retailing

Other Store-Based Retailing

Non-Store Retailing and Retail Commission-Based Buying and/or Selling
