History

Before enlisting during World War One Corporal Roy Watt was a Morse code operator with the Post Master General (PMG). He enlisted on 05 February 1916 following a desperate call for men with communications experience needed to serve alongside the British in Mesopotamia. He was posted to the newly raised specialist 1st Wireless Squadron. He returned to Australia and died on 13 December 1957.[1]

Legacy

World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
