Obituary
- IN MEMORIAM. Many in Ballarat will regret to hear of the death of Mr S. Abraham, which occurred as his residence, Richmond, on Wednesday night, after a long illness. Deceased, who formerly resided in Ballarat, having arrived here in the “digging days,” at one time conducted business as a gold broker in the Main road, near the old Charlie Napier Theatre. He there suffered losses through fire and floods, and removed nearer the present town, where he added a financial agency to his business, A few years ago he retired and went to Melbourne, Mr Abraham was 61 years of age at the time of his death, and leaves a widow and grown-up family of 12, including Messrs Godfrey and Isaac Abraham, tobacconists, &e., Mair street.[2]
