History
T. Richards was a member of the Ballarat Mining Board and a member of the Ballarat Prospecting Board in 1886.[1] In 1884 T. Richards was Secretary of the Ballarat Mineowners Association.
T. Richards died in 1895.
- The election for the seat on the Ballarat Mining Board rendered vacant by the death of the late Mr T. Richards, the representative of the Ballarat division, will take place to day Polling will commence at 9 and close at 5
o’clock, at the Mining Board office, the Ballarat East Town Hall, Little Bendigo, and Sabastopol.[2]

- The usual committee meeting of the above was held at the office on Friday, the 4h inst. Present—Mr J. Fraser, president (in the chair), 10 members, and the secretary; also Messrs W. H. Uren,. M.L A., and W. G. Spence secretary A.M.A. Correspondence.—Mining on private property—Communications were received from W. G. Spence, A.M.A, and C. F. Nicholls, secretary to Melbourne committee, relating to the above.—As the bill , had been considered previously at a special committee, no action was taken pending a reply from the other branches, and the executive council of the A.M.A., to whom it had been referred, with a view to united action. From Mines Department, forwarding mineral statistics for 1883. Received with thanks. From T. Richards, Secretary Mineowners’ Association, soliciting the support of the association to secure an in crease of the. prospecting vote, and to appoint a delegate to attend a conference to be held in Melbourne on the 23rd instant, for the purpose of urging-its claims on the Hon. the Commissioner of Mines —Received, and the president, Mr Fraser, was appointed to represent the Ballarat branch. The secretary was instructed to send the names of secretaries of other branches and the executive officers of the A. M. A. to the secretary of the Mine owners’ Association, that the above deputation may be as widely represented as possible. From R. Richardson, in reference to the New North Clunes inquiry. ...[3]
