Theophilus Williams

Theophilus Williams was a Mayor of Sebastopol.
History
In 1864, the Ballarat Star reported that Williams had returned to Wales, and formed a company to mine gold in Wales.
It appears that Mr Theophilus Williams, an old resident in Ballarat, and owner of the ground now being worked by the Essex Company, has gone on a visit to his native country, and has become enamored of the prospects open to quartz investors in North Wales. We are informed that he has formed a scheme for mining there, and has invited his Ballarat mining friends to join in the speculation, several of whom have taken up shares. One or two lots of stone crushed from the Carnarvonshire mines have produced large quantities of gold, an average of 25 or 26 oz to the ton having been realised in one instance.[1]
