History
Thomas T. Jones was the son of Richard Jones (2) and Margaret Kidd.[1]
Cpl ThomasJones of the 23rd Battalion, 6th Brigade was Killed at Pozières on 04 August 1916. On 13 January 1918 the flags on the City and Town Halls were flown at half-mast for six Ballarat soldiers confirmed that week. Four were from the 23rd Battalion – Eric T. Brind (killed 28 July 1916), Robt. L. Tremain (killed 26 August 1916), Charlie Ladner (killed 20 March 1917) and Tom Jones.[2]
Legacy
The World War One service recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour. Tree number 455 was planted in honour.[3]
