Thomas Zimdahl
History
Known as Edward Thomas Zimdahl, service number 2762A, enlisted in the Australian Imperial Army (51st Battalion), Perth, on the 1st May 1916. he embarked for overseas from Freemantle, HMAT Suffolk, on the 10th October 1916 and disembarked Plymouth 2nd December, 1916. He fought in France, was wounded in France on the 24th April 1918. He returned to Australia on the Somali on the 1st June 1919. [1]
ZIMDAHL, Edward Thomas (late of 51st Batt., 1st A.I.F.): Died On Aug. 25, 1953, at Perth, loved brother of William Patrick, of Carlisle, and Frederick of Kensington, Victoria, brother-in-law of Val. Rest in peace. [2]
