History
Richard Trahar's foundry melted the first cast-iron in Ballarat.
Trahar Bros. Foundry was established in Ballarat in 1855. [1]
The foundry was established in 1855 as engineers and casting manufacturers for the mining industry. [2]
In 1955, Trahar Bros. Foundry celebrated its 100th anniversary.
This business closed on 7.10.1976. [3]

In the 1970 Sands and McDougall Directory of Ballarat, Trahar Bros. were listed as iron founders situated at 8 Channel Street, Ballarat.
Products
Hard iron grinding balls for cement mills, cast iron pipe fittings, general castings for Engineering and industrial use.
