The Victoria Hotel was in Main Street, Ballarat.[1]


Innovations

Community Involvement

  • In January 1866, Mr. Dyte and Mr. Jones, held a political rally at the hotel.[2]
  • In July 1867 the hotel was the venue for a community meeting of residents opposed to government's plan to build a lazar house, for the Chinese lepers, in Clayton Street.[3]
  • In January 1868, a Mr. Thompson, used the hotel for a political meeting for the Ballarat Borough elections.[4]
  • In January 1868 Mr. C. E. Jones spoke to a meeting of electors for the coming election.[5]
