History

Virgil Tucker, the son of Archdeacon Tucker, was an Associate of the Ballarat School of Mines. He was killed in action in France. He left Australia as a lieutenant, and gained promotion on active service. 'He was a mannly young fellow, of brilliant attainments, and had a bright future before him. At the time of his enlistment he was working in the mines at Broken Hill as an Engineer. He enlisted there and sailed with the Engineer's Unit of the South Australian Section of the Forces.
