W. H. Middleton


History
William Henry Middleton was born at Wedderburn to Edward Middleton and Emily Tadman, He was the President of the Ballarat School of Mines from 1912-1940. He was a master plumber of 114 Lyons Street in 1908.[1]
He died at Novar Hospital on 01 June 1940, and was buried at the Ballaarat Old Cemetery on 03 June 1940.[2]

William Middleton married Elizabeth Jane Mitchell. Their children are

Legacy
William Middleton presented two Ballarat School of Mines President's Medals in 1916. One for Art was presented to Allan Thomas Bernaldo, and the other for Science presented to John Dulfer. Both have been donated to the Federation University Historical Collection.
William Middleton's son, Fred. G. Middleton, was surgeon of the Shackleton Relief Part on the Aurora which left in December for the Antarctic to bring back the party that remained at Cape Evans.[4]
