Notes
- Writing to his lather, MrW. W. Ramage, bootmaker, of Main road, Lance-Corporal W. Ramage, who has been at Gallipoli since the Australians first landed there, stated that he was quite well. The food was excellent, and the troops were being very well treated. The heat was terrible, and the flies most troublesome- Lance Corporal Ramage mentioned that Sergeant Trusier; who went away with him, had not been taken, to Gallipoli, but was kept in Egypt. Private J. M'Pherson, of the 6th Battalion, who also went away with Lance-Corporal Ramage, had been twice wounded in action, and had been invalided home.[1]
