Although such operators do not fall strictly within the scope of the Ballarat and District Industrial Heritage Project, such operators may have performed secondary industrial activities that contributed to the industrial heritage of Ballarat and district and should be included here.

Operators involved in Basic Material Wholesaling will have one or a combination of the following activities as the primary activity of their operations: agricultural product wholesaling; mineral, metal and chemical wholesaling; and/or timber and hardware goods wholesaling.
Machinery and Equipment Wholesaling
Operators involved in Machinery and Equipment Wholesaling have specialised industrial machinery and equipment wholesaling as the primary activity of their operations.
Motor Vehicle and Motor Vehicle Parts Wholesaling
Operators involved in Motor Vehicle and Motor Vehicle Parts Wholesaling will have one or a combination of the following activities as the primary activity of their operations: car wholesaling; commercial vehicle wholesaling; trailer and other motor vehicle wholesaling; motor vehicle new parts wholesaling; and/or motor vehicle dismantling and used parts wholesaling.
Grocery, Liquor and Tobacco Products Wholesaling
Operators involved in Grocery, Liquor and Tobacco Products Wholesaling will have one or a combination of the following activities as the primary activity of their operations: general line grocery wholesaling; meat, poultry and smallgoods wholesaling; dairy produce wholesaling; fish and seafood wholesaling; fruit and vegetable wholesaling; liquor and tobacco product wholesaling; and/or other grocery wholesaling.
Operators involved in Other Goods Wholesaling will have one or a combination of the following activities as the primary activity of their operations: textile product wholesaling; clothing and footwear wholesaling; pharmaceutical and toiletry goods wholesaling; furniture and floor covering wholesaling; jewellery and watch wholesaling; kitchen and diningware wholesaling; toy and sporting goods wholesaling; book and magazine wholesaling; paper product wholesaling; and/or other goods wholesaling (not elsewhere classified).
Operators involved in Commission-Based Wholesaling will have one or a combination of the following activities as the primary activity of their operations: auction service (except real estate); auctioning livestock; export agent, wholesaler; import agent, wholesaler; livestock agent; manufacturer’s sales agent; stock and station agent; stockyard operation; wholesaler’s sales agent; and/or wool broking.
