William Brazenor was born at Ballarat on 07 April 1888. He attended Pleasant Street State School. He married Anne Mabel Cunningham on 22 November 1911, at St Peter's Anglican Church, Ballarat.
Brazenor enlisted for service during World War One on 29 March 1915, and was poste das the Commander of C Company of Geelong's 23rd Battalion. They were part of the Lone Pine battle at Gallipoli.
William Brazenor was a member of the Ballarat Old Colonists' Association. He died on 22 September 1945 in Ballarat.
William Brazenor's name is listed in the Ballarat School of Mines Honor Roll.

- Colonel William Brazenor, 57, of Sturt st. Ballarat, secretary of Ballarat Water Commission and Sewerage Authority, died on Saturday. He had not been in robust health for some time. On Thursday night he attended the wind-up social of the 20th Battalion VDC, which he had commanded since its inception. As a captain in the 23rd Battalion, 1st AIF, he served on Gallipoli and in France, where he rose to command of the battalion and was awarded the DSO and bar for distinguished leadership. He is survived by a widow and family. One son is Acting Squadron-Ldr Robert Brazenor, RAAF, recently engaged in opera-tions in the SW Pacific.
