Background

William H. Bardwell was a photographer at Ballarat. He was active from 1858 until 1895.

Photographic Studio

Between 1859 and 1862 he was working with Saul Solomon under the studio name Solomon and Bardwell. Between 1865 and 1869 he was in Main Road, Ballarat. Bardwell was producing carte de visites in Ballarat in 1873 and also operated under the name Royal Studio.[1]

At one time Bardwell's Royal Studio was located in Sturt Street near the corner of Doveton Street.[2]
