William H. Hamilton
History
William Hugh Hamilton was the son of Robert Hamilton of South Street Ballarat. He was born on 24 May 1894. William Hamilton was appointed junior teacher at Redan in 1910, afterwards occupying a similar position at Mount Pleasant. His record as a teacher was that as willing, hardworking, intelligent and trustworthy. He resigned in 1912 to enter Duntroon Military College. He died during World War One on 25 April 1915.[1]
Legacy
The World War One service of William Hamilton was recognised on the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.
